iFashion

Calling all fashion designers.  BHS Rock the Runway is looking for middle school students (incoming 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th graders for the 2023-2024 school year) interested in fashion design. Spend a week this summer perfecting a wearable art piece, made of anything but fabric.  We will train you in the art of the armature and manipulation of found objects to create your design.

Emily Smith, Batavia High School art teacher, will lead this fashion workshop with the help of BHS Rock the Runway high school designers who will assist participants in the creation of their garments. Enrollment is very limited, as we will only be accepting 20 participants.  Each iFashion designer will work off a mannequin that we will provide for the duration of the class. Armature and binding materials will also be provided.  Participants will work one-on-one to develop a design that meets their vision.  In order to execute each participant’s vision successfully, designers should plan on bringing in their own supplies to cover the armature (skeleton) created in class.  Limited material choices will be provided: i.e. book pages, coffee filters, and tissue paper. Any other embellishments/supplies for their designs should be brought to class.  More information will be sent with registration confirmation.  We look forward to working with the iFashion designers and fashioning fabulous creations.

iFashion participants will vote on one of their pieces to be awarded a Designer's Choice Award.

Dates: June 2023 Cost: $185

Payments should be made by mailing a check payable to BHS. All registration and payments must be received by Monday, May 16th.   Registration will occur in the order it is received.  A student isn't considered registered until both payment is received and the form below is submitted.
